Blue
look! see?
circling her sparkling eye
in the waves crashing against the shore
look! see?
stained on the little fingers of berry pickers
faded on a loved stuff toy
look! see?
painted on the sky
on the wing of a jay
look! see?
a beauty called blue
I see it, do you?

I guess I see it…… Okay maybe not.
Have you ever been to Face Rock in Bandon, Oregon? It is basically what you described.

face rock…maybe. i have been to bandon plenty of times but i wasn’t trying to describe any certain place. just my favorite things of blue. i didn’t mention the faded blue color you see on far away mountians, that is another one of my favorites. i couldn’t think of a way to say it poetically.

I love the way you captured shades of blue in your poem, Rachel. Your blogs make for great reads, interesting writing that captures the imagination of your audience. Well done.

I think face rock would be pretty memorable if you saw it… It’s a giant rock…. That looks like a face…. lol
My grandparents, aunt, and their combined total of what is now five dogs (!!!!!), live in Bandon so I visit there quite a bit. I love the beaches there! It’s too cold for all the swimsuit-wearing tourists to visit, and yet warm enough to visit often during the summer, and there is almost ALWAYS a good enough breeze to fly a kite. If not, pick another one of the millions of beaches around!
